Why Locals Love Kyushu Ramen
Nestled in the heart of Van Nuys, Kyushu Ramen offers a vibrant and authentic Japanese dining experience that goes far beyond just traditional ramen. Specializing in flavorful ramen and an impressive variety of Japanese favorites, this cozy yet lively restaurant invites you to savor dishes crafted with care and fresh ingredients in generous portions that satisfy both the palate and the appetite.
Kyushu Ramen’s menu is a delightful fusion of classic and contemporary Japanese cuisine. Their signature ramen bowls, such as the rich Tonkotsu pork ramen, captivate with a deeply savory broth that’s luxurious and comforting, accompanied by freshly made noodles that spring to life with every slurp. For those seeking more substantial entrees, the Chicken Katsu stands out—golden, crispy, and perfectly breaded, served with a tangy tonkatsu sauce that balances the savory flavors beautifully. Meanwhile, the Karaage, featuring marinated Japanese fried chicken, delivers a tender, juicy bite with a crunchy exterior that’s simply irresistible.
Beyond ramen, Kyushu Ramen also offers unexpected yet equally mouthwatering pasta options, like their Carbonara Spaghetti, which blends creamy richness with smoky bacon and a hint of sharp parmesan. The Peperoncino Spaghetti with king oyster mushrooms adds an earthy depth and subtle heat, showing the kitchen’s flair for creative flavor combinations.
The sides complement the main dishes seamlessly—whether it’s the warm, soothing Miso Soup or the indulgent BBQ marinated short ribs grilled to perfection. Portions are generous, reflecting a commitment to customer satisfaction, and prices remain fair, making each visit a rewarding experience both in taste and value.
The dining atmosphere at Kyushu Ramen is inviting and relaxed, creating a space where friends and family can gather to enjoy hearty Japanese meals. The staff contribute to this with friendly and welcoming service, noted by many loyal patrons for their warmth and attentiveness, though occasional busy moments can occur during peak hours. The restaurant stays open late, perfect for those craving a comforting bowl of ramen or a satisfying meal any time of day or night.
Customers consistently praise the vibrant, fresh flavors and thoughtful preparation found in every dish. From the richness of the ramen broth to the crispness of the fried chicken, every bite tells a story of dedication and passion for Japanese cuisine. Kyushu Ramen is more than just a meal—it’s an experience that leaves you feeling nourished and cared for, making it a standout destination for both locals and visitors craving genuine Japanese comfort food in Van Nuys.
Whether you’re stopping by for a quick dinner or an evening out with friends, Kyushu Ramen promises an uplifting and delicious journey into Japan’s beloved culinary traditions with a welcoming California twist.

I eat here often and unfortunately the waitresses tend to be a little scatter-brained. One of them tended to other groups before mine, and she seemed to take a while to get to our table. I understand if she had an off day. The food was impeccable and the prices are better than other locations I've been to, with generous portions.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The ramen here is amazing! Super fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions that’ll definitely leave you full and happy. The broth is rich and comforting, the noodles taste freshly made, and every topping feels thoughtfully prepared. On top of that, the staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Definitely one of my new favorite ramen spots!

I want to say a few words about this place. I really love different cuisines. I'm from Uzbekistan. We have incredibly delicious cuisine, and to surprise me, you have to do something incredible! So yesterday, my wife, my friend, my son, and I came to eat at this restaurant. What can I say? EVERYTHING WAS SO DELICIOUS! The ramen, the fried ribs, the sushi, and the rolls! Honestly, THIS IS A REAL AUTHENTIC JAPANESE RESTAURANT!!! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to eat like they're in Japan.

Visited Kyushu Ramen in Van Nuys and had the fried chicken and edamame, both were fresh, crispy, and really tasty. The menu is huge, with tons of options beyond just ramen. Food came out fast, and the portions were generous. Staff was friendly, though they did rush us a bit to order. Overall, a great spot for a quick, satisfying meal with lots to choose from.

This place has awesome sushi :) I really like the Salmon or Tuna sushi and the Fried Tuna Stick, without seaweed on it, but if you like seaweed then go for it! The Tuna Stick comes with a sticky soy-based sauce and is probably my favorite thing on the menu. I've also recently tried the Yellowtail and it was good! The Edamame and the Miso Soup are great appetizers, and they've recently been making a Japanese Pudding in a glass jar and I love it! I've tried the Miso Ramen, the Deluxe Spicy Miso Ramen, and the Chashu Ramen, also the Katsu Curry Rice, which was fine. Honestly, I only come here for the Sushi and Spicy Tuna Stick at this point, because it is so delicious, and the Ramen just makes me full, when really I just want the sushi. You can sit in the front part of the restaurant or in the back at the sushi counter. Love this spot :)
